How to Get a Flat Stomach

Men listen up!!! Have you noticed how women always seem to notice those other men at the beach with those washboard abs? You know the type that I am talking about. Those men who can take off their shirt and make women stop and turn around. I know you have tried everything that you could think of right?

The battle of the midsection bulge is difficult for some men to overcome, it really is. There are so many men that are in this very same situation. Many times I am asked so many questions by these men wanting to know what they can do or what they are doing wrong. They want to know what they can do to reduce the excess fat in their bodies and how to eat a well balanced diet.

Will crunches help me to get rid of the bulge around my midsection? What type of exercises do you recommend for me to do so I can get rid of this bulge? Why do sit ups not work for me? These are men are not just sitting on the couch becoming couch potatoes, but men who are actually really trying to get rid of that bulge in their midsection, but they are just not having any success.

Your jelly belly will not go away by doing a bunch of crunches, which was once a theory known as spot reduction, which was once very popular among the fitness fanatics, but luckily has been proven scientifically inaccurate. Research has now shown us that no one can select what part of the body fat is to be lost from, because it is lost from all over the body.

These research studies have also shown us that we have two ways in which we can go about loosing fat. Fortunately, they can be done at the same time as well, which are through diet and exercise. If men want a flat stomach, then their diet needs to be focused around foods that are most definitely low in fat, but high in whole grain, fruits, and vegetables. Remember, dieting does not have be torture.

No matter who you talk to, exercise programs are always a controversial topic. You will get a different answer every single time. However, you should work out three or four times a week doing your regular cardiovascular work outs. These are wonderful for helping you to burn off that excess fat and getting your metabolism kick started.

If you are not sure what type of cardiovascular program would be good for you, then how about walking or running? Then again perhaps you would prefer some type of martial arts or yoga or even bicycling. Whatever you select, just be sure to always stretch before beginning your work out, which will help you avoid any type of injury.

Once you have your well balance diet established and your regular cardiovascular routine set up, then you are halfway there to seeing results in your midsection. Now it is time to begin some exercises that will target the abdominal muscles of your midsection. These are any exercise that has the ability to bend your lower spine in the back region.

When you begin these exercises it is important that you keep the natural arch of your back and do not try to become too stiff during these exercises. If you stay natural, then you will find that the exercises have much more of an effective result on your and you will not have nearly as much back strain as you could have.

For some unknown reason men believe that sit-ups are the only way to get those six pack abs, but this is so so wrong. In fact, research studies have shown that sit-ups can be dangerous and they do not work the abdominal muscles. Instead they work the back and thigh muscles. Crunches are your best bet over sit-ups. Work out with patience and remember any exercise that works the lower back area of the spine will do it.
